Senate Banking Committee for 119th Congress announced

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has been named the first Black chair of the Senate Banking Committee for the 119th Congress, succeeding Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), who exited after losing re-election. Scott also chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee for the 2026 election cycle. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) steps into the ranking member role, with several new members joining the committee.
