Biden nominates Christy Goldsmith Romero to lead FDIC

President Joe Biden nominated Christy Goldsmith Romero, a current commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, as the new chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

This follows FDIC Chair Martin Gruenberg’s announcement that he will resign once his successor is confirmed by the Senate. Gruenberg’s decision came after an independent investigation revealed pervasive sexual harassment, discrimination and bullying at the FDIC.
