Join us for the 2013 ABA Government Relations Conference
April 15-17, 2013
Renaissance Washington, Washington, D.C.

Register    Additional Information

From April 15-17, an estimated 1,100 bankers from all over the nation will travel to Washington, D.C., for the 2013 Government Relations Summit, where they will meet with their elected officials and regulators to discuss face-to-face how legislation affects their banks, employees and communities. Realizing the importance of Texas being well represented, the TBA Board of Directors authorized the disbursement of a $1,000 stipend to all first-time attendees. In addition, bankers who have previously attended the GR Summit will be given a $1,000 stipend for a second person who attends from their bank. Last year we had approximately 100 attendees from Texas, and we hope to top that number this year..

Plan now to attend the Government Relations Summit and bring your senior executives and directors.

Reasons to attend the 2013 Government Relations Summit:

1. Your involvement will help legislators understand who bankers really are and what banks do for their constituents.
2. With new regulators, new agencies and new regulations, bankers need to be involved and heard.
3. It’s an opportunity to meet with powerful regulators and the members of the Texas Delegation.
4. You’ll interact with bankers from all over the nation.
5. If you’re a rookie to the government relations process, you’ll be in the company of veteran attendees who will be happy to take you under their wing and show you the ropes.
6. The process is easy and enlightening. TBA will schedule your appointments. Your job is to tell the story of your bank and community and how proposed legislation will affect both.
7. You’ll receive briefings on important banking legislation.
8. You can socialize with lawmakers and their staffs at receptions.
9. A strong showing of bankers delivers the message that the banking industry is engaged.
10. Explore the many sites of our nation’s capital.
11. This is a great time to meet with the new faces in Congress. The Texas delegation includes seven freshmen Congressmen and one freshman Senator.

The Washington Blitz will be meeting in conjunction with the ABA Government Relations Summit. But you don’t have to be an ABA member to attend!
